Picking The Best Of Golf Clubs And Best Accessories
Some golfers like to buy the latest, the most raved about and the most expensive golf equipment and accessories for different reasons such as to show off to friends, to impress some business acquaintance or due to an illusion that such products would always give the best utility value and help to improve their game. Some may also do so with an eye on becoming a professional or a star soon.
Especially in golf, the best for anybody is not necessarily the latest or the most expensive products, but merely the items that blend with your technique and thereby make a positive contribution to the overall quality of the game you play. By choosing your golf equipment and accessories realistically and objectively without being unduly influenced by other diversions and propaganda, you should be able to get the optimal quality equipment and accessories without unnecessarily making a dent in your bank account.
Most golfers prefer graphite clubs to steel ones due to their light weight that make very fast swings easy to make to give more power to your drives. Slower swingers prefer steel clubs with the higher weight to get that extra punch to their strokes to compensate for the slower swinging speed. The equation involving weight and swing need not necessarily be resolved by deciding on either graphite or a steel club. Club components can be easily interchanged or replaced to obtain a desired level of functionality. For example, even a slow swinger can still play with a graphite club fixed with an extra heavy head to get the required momentum. The main criteria to note is that as a first option to improve your game, it is not advisable to try something from the opposite extreme to the types that you have so far been used to. It could result in an immediately noticeable retardation of the quality of the game you play instead of an enhancement. When looking out for better options, the wisest approach is to experiment with values little above and below the specifications you have used as your base so far for any given attribute. However, feel too overawed to venture beyond the 2 cut-off limits in the range, provided you do it gradually step by step until you find something that feels definitely better than what you have been used to date. Have more tryouts on the course to confirm your newfound specifications before you buy any new parts or update your equipment.
The main accessories comprise a carrying case plus some golf balls that have no bearing on the quality of the game you play. Balls are almost all the same in quality and appearance despite different brand names. You can get balls that glow to facilitate night play and also with transmitters embedded to facilitate their easy location on the golf course through a GPS device. Since very few people would want to indulge in such luxuries at a tremendous cost, the average golfer can go for the standard regulation balls. The same can be said of a carrying case where any amount you pay over and above a reasonable price is a waste of precious money that some golfers resort to merely to impress others.
If you are the flamboyant spendthrift type, there will always be many flashy accessories or some novelty to buy every time you visit your favorite golf club stores. You may be well advised to always concentrate on whatever that goes to improve your game without being unduly influenced by flashy advertisements and propaganda galore. Even with regard to improving your game, consider for example if you should drown a fortune to buy a new club with a little more flex or whether you could make a slight adjustment to your technique to compensate for it at no extra cost. Be aware that over eagerness on your part could lead you to waste money on some ill-planned purchase that may only take you back many steps instead of forging ahead.
Rather than spending money on whims and fancies, first talk to your friends and others knowledgeable and well experienced in the technologies of golf equipment and accessories before falling headlong into a trap of buying untested and unknown latest fads to hit the market. Apart from sharing their valuable knowledge with you, many golfers would be willing to lend their equipment for an entire game or even for longer periods for you to test them on the course prior to making a purchase. Make sure that that all the golf equipment buying experiences of yours would be happy ones. They would be, provided you don’t rush them and go about them methodically and professionally.
